Replacement of the windshield only if necessary!

Often, a windshield repair is sufficient.

Only if a repair of the windshield is impossible, we will proceed with the replacement of the front windshield.

Replacement of the windshield is necessary if:

The stone chip is located in the driver's field of vision (marked in blue),

the impact point exceeds a diameter of 5 mm.,

potential cracks extend to the edge of the windshield.

Note:

In general, the following rule applies: Anything that is not within the driver's field of vision, is at least ten centimeters away from the edge, and is smaller than five millimeters can be repaired. The field of vision is considered an area the size of an A4 sheet directly in front of the driver (blue area in the image below).
